WIN weekend tickets to Foxlake Outdoor Festival in East Lothian

Love getting active outdoors? Love great music? Love top notch comedy? If it’s yes to all three then you will absolutely love East Lothian’s Foxlake Outdoor Festival. Last year’s inaugural event was hugely successful, and this year’s promises to be bigger and better than ever.

In short Foxlake Adventures is Scotland’s first cable wakeboarding park. It also has the UK’s only ropes course constructed over water. It’s always a great place for a family adventure, but the festival cranks things up a serious notch and is a brilliant reason to visit. The dates to get in your diary now are May 20-21.

A Belly Full of Laughs

The organisers have travelled the length and breadth of Britain to snare the comedy talent. Headliners gracing the Comedy Stage include radio and TV star Des Clarke, Tom Stade and Darren Connell. They will be backed up fellow rib ticklers like Janey Godley, Gary Little, Rossco Mclelland and Jojo Sutherland. Look out too for award winning Scottish stand-up, comic and Gaelic TV presenter/actress Carina MacLeod, and Zara Janjua – an experienced broadcast reporter and presenter.

Tribute Acts Spanning Six Decades

Complementing this diverse comedy line-up is an equally varied music programme. A stellar line-up of East Lothian’s finest local tribute bands will grace the Decades Music Stage during the two-day extravaganza, including Abba A Rival, Take This, Durananduran, Jersey Notes (4 Seasons), Little Fix, Status No, Eltan John, George Michaels, Glasgow Blues Brothers, Simply Rod (Stewart) and Beatles Revisited. They will be ably supported by local talent through ELJam (East Lothian Youth Music Forum).

Industry Pro Wakeboard Tour Event

These comedy and music stages run alongside the Industry Wake Parks, who are running an Industry Pro Wakeboard Tour Event. This will see some of the world’s most talented wake boarders compete at Foxlake, and offer a rare chance to catch the thrills and spills of professional wakeboarding.

A Thrill Seekers Dream

A brand new addition to this year’s festival is the heart-starting Adrenaline Arena. Here highlights include Access Parkour’s free running displays, and the flips and tricks of the BMX bikes of The Clan, Scotland’s Cycle Stunt Team. Those who dare, meanwhile, can jump from the 8m high Free Fall Stunt Bag!

As if all that wasn’t enough the ever-popular Kids’ Zone will be back, complete with an inflatable village filled with all manner of bouncy castles! Here wee ones can also take tackle the climbing wall, whether they have any experience or not, and indulge in the more traditional charm of having their faces painted.

Abundant Family Fun

The crux of the Foxlake Outdoor Festival is all about giving families an opportunity to get active outdoors together, and to have loads of fun in the process. I like that you very much have the chance to try out some of the park’s outdoor adventures. A highlight for me is the Foxfall Course, the UK’s only rope course constructed over water. Alternatively you can don your wet suit and give wakeboarding a try. Back on dry land you can even hop on and master a segway.

Last year’s festival sold out well in advance, so I’d move quickly if you want to snare some precious briefs this time around. We have an ace competition – we’re giving away three pairs of adult weekend tickets – to help get you along. Whether you win or not I’d thoroughly recommend heading to this great event. There will be a shuttle bus service from Dunbar railway station so getting there is easy too. What are you waiting for?
