10 May

£10 in the draw! Is it your Lucky day? It was lucky in 1824 when the National Gallery in London opened to the public and in 1872,Victoria Woodhull became the first woman nominated for President of the United States. In 1954, Bill Haley & His Comets released “Rock Around the Clock”, the first rock and roll record to reach number one on the Billboard charts and in 1962, Marvel Comics published the first issue of The Incredible Hulk. Finally, in 1994, Nelson Mandela is inaugurated as South Africa’s first black president.

Famous people born on this day include Fred Astaire, American actor, singer, and dancer, born 1899, Barbara Taylor Bradford, English-American author, born 1933, and Bono, Irish singer-songwriter, humanitarian and activist, born 1960. The day is dedicated to the wonderful Mr Fred Astaire!

The hardest job kids face today is learning good manners without seeing any.
The higher up you go, the more mistakes you are allowed. Right at the top, if you make enough of them, it’s considered to be your style.
I just put my feet in the air and move them around.
Old age is like everything else. To make a success of it, you’ve got to start young.

Have a magical day my friend!
